ORIGINAL
The coat of arms m/1865 was a military headgear detail.
Metal plate often of gilded brass with the small coat of arms and the Seraphim chain,
which was worn with the softer cap m/1865, especially on parade.
The plate was attached to the cap and often had attachments for a plume or pompom (which contained horsehair),
and was part of the early parade dress of many regiments, including the Life Grenadiers,
and became known as the "cap with plate and plume".
Vapenplåt m/1865 var en militär huvudbonadsdetalj, en metallplatta ofta av förgylld mässing med lilla riksvapnet och Serafim-kedjan, som användes med den mjukare mössan m/1865, särskilt vid parad.
